Meet Sam Stocks: Strength Coach for Busy Parents

Strength Coach for Busy Parents. Dad of Two. Based in Newcastle.

Helping parents rebuild strength, energy, and confidence without burning out.

Over 18 years coaching parents to feel capable again in real life, not just workouts.

Why I Coach Parents

I’ve helped people get stronger and more confident for 18 years.

Growing up, I watched my mum and dad exercise despite demanding NHS and maintenance jobs. They still made time to move and look after themselves which meant they could give their best to me and my sister.

At 12, my mum took me to a kids’ gym class. There was a competition to see who could run longest on a treadmill. I won and earned free entry for a year. That Christmas, I got dumbbells and started training at home.

By 16, I was taking friends to the gym. The desire to help others has only grown since.

From Gym Rat to Smart Training

For years I trained with heavy weights and got very strong.

Around 2014, I discovered gymnastics and calisthenics. Hanging upside down on rings, trying to rotate my left side through a movement, my body simply wouldn’t respond. I realised being strong in one way didn’t mean I was complete.

I rebuilt from basics and developed a more balanced approach, one that optimises health, helps me age well, and keeps me able to play with my kids.

This approach is perfect for parents: real capability without needing a gym, fitting into limited time, and strength that translates into real life.

Why I Created the 4 Pillars

After coaching hundreds of parents, I noticed a pattern.

Those who struggled weren’t lazy. They were pulling the wrong lever.

Some trained hard but slept terribly. Others ate well but couldn’t escape the 3pm crash. Many did everything “right” but snapped at their kids by 6pm.

Traditional training treats every problem the same way. But if your sleep is broken or your stress is chronic, more exercise won’t fix it.

That’s why I developed the 4 Pillars framework, it identifies which system is actually failing before we start training.

That insight became the foundation of how I coach parents today.

Qualifications and Experience

But the real expertise comes from understanding why people get stuck, what creates lasting change, and how to coach someone through the messy reality of life with children.

Why I Coach Parents Specifically

As a dad of two (aged 10 and 6), I understand:

When you feel strong, capable and energised, it changes everything. How you show up for your kids. How you handle stress. How you feel about yourself.

And your kids notice. They learn from what you do, not what you say.
